Be A Guardian: Le Van Loi

Loi lost his father when he was small. His grandmother used to do the farm work when she was healthy, but now she stays at home to do housework due to bad health and old age. Loi’s mother is a tailor at Le Trach market which is open only in the afternoon. However, her work is only re-tailoring stitches of ready-to-wear clothes. She often tailors for students at the beginning of the new school year, but her income is very low.

Loi’s mother has a weak leg, which causes her a lot of difficulties in walking. Both Loi and his mother are in poor health. Loi has asthma. Therefore, both of them have to go to hospital every month. His grandmother said that if Loi or his mother doesn’t need to go to hospital on particular month, then the family has enough money for their living expenses on that month.

Loi studies in one of the best classes at his secondary school. His GPA is 8.9/10, ranking 2nd in his class. Thanks to GFO scholarship, Loi can attend extra classes. Loi is good at Math and Literature; he also shows his talent in painting. Loi’s mother has to ask the school for reduction in other fees, as her family is in the group of poor families.

Due to Loi’s mother’s poor health and her low income, it’s hard for his family to pay for his education. Loi is a very good son who is always close to his mother. Moreover, he is very careful and composed.
