Be A Guardian: Nguyen Thi Anh

Anh and her mother is living at her grandparents’ house with 2 of her aunts. Her grandparents are too old to do any hard work. Her grandfather’s health is better than her grandmother’s so he can go to the temple regularly, but her mother doesn’t have a sound mind. Anh and her mother live in a small room which has enough space for just a bed and a small table.

Anh’s aunt has a small drink stall at the neighboring market. Anh’s mother takes care of the stall when her aunt is busy. Anh’s mother also does farm work. Her family has a field of about 1,500 square meters. However, this year, the whole hamlet had a lean year; Anh’s family is no exception. Although working in a farm is very hard, the income is very low, only about 500,000 VND per month.

Anh is studying at a nearby secondary school. Her GPA at her 5th grade is good. Anh studies hard and shows talent in music, and usually takes part in music activities at school. She is nice but a little bit shy.

The condition of Anh’s family is still poor because her mother only does farm work to raise Anh. They don’t have to worry about a place to live right now, but their budget is tight, like many other families who do farm work.
