- Patient was born deaf. In 2006, patient underwent cochlear implant. Cochlear implants bypass damaged portions of the ear and directly stimulate the auditory nerve. Signals generated by the implant are sent by way of the auditory nerve to the brain.
- Patient has to come back to hospital once or twice every year to do check-up and hearing practice. |

- Patient was back to Singapore for testing cochlear implant.
- Doctor also helped the patient and her mother to use the implant to hear and pronounce words. The practice was effective.
- Patient needs to come back every 6 months to check-up. It is important to practice hearing by the implant everyday in Vietnam. |
