This project marked the foundation of GFO, when a group of Vietnamese graduates and students from National University of Singapore gathered to support a group of Vietnamese children who came to Singapore for cancer treatment in 2006. These children mostly faced with leukemia and other types of cancer who were returned by the local hospitals in Vietnam. The group of GFO founders took turn to support the children and their families overcome language and cultural barriers with free-of-charge and daily assistance in life orientation, visa application, accommodation arrangement, translation and interpretation. They received tremendous support from various hospitals in Singapore for the meaningful work. After the formal registration of GFO in August 2006, this activity attracted up to 50 volunteers who extended their hands to help some 120 cases, saving their families hundred thousands of dollars.

After the recent restructure of GFO, in view of the current limitation of resources, GFO has temporarily taken out its focus on this project.
